Nalbandian out 4 months after hip surgery

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -Argentine tennis player David Nalbandian is recovering in Barcelona after undergoing surgery on his right hip, which will keep him sidelined for four months.

The 15th-ranked Nalbandian, who underwent surgery on Wednesday, will miss Argentina's Davis Cup quarterfinal in July, as well as the remaining Grand Slam tournaments - the French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open.

The medical clinic that performed the operation said Nalbandian would stay in Barcelona to rehabilitate until the end of May, before returning to Argentina to continue his recovery.

The 27-year-old Nalbandian's last match was a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Chile's Paul Capdeville at last week's Estoril Open in Portugal.
