Costa blasts Zaragoza

Ricardo Costa has hit out at Real Zaragoza after his transfer from Wolfsburg unexpectedly collapsed.

The former Porto defender had been set to join the La Liga outfit after a fee was agreed, only for the goalposts to be moved.

The Portuguese stopper claims Zaragoza tried to change the terms of the deal which led to him returning to Germany.

"When I was about to sign the contract I found out the conditions of the deal were different from those agreed," he told Wolfsburger Nachrichten .

Could not sign

"I could not sign the contract and now I'm back with Wolfsburg."

Wolfsburg manager Armin Veh is disappointed Zaragoza have gone back on their word and he believes there is more integrity in Germany's top flight.

"Zaragoza gave us a bank guarantee for the transfer, but we never received it," said Veh.

"The transfer couldn't go through as they never had a real agreement with us nor the player.

"It's unbelievable. In the Bundesliga someone's word is the law, elsewhere there are clubs that don't respect agreements."
