Chaparro took the reigns from Hector Cuper in December with the team inside the relegation zone and was able to pull them clear of the bottom three, leading the side to a fairly comfortable 13th place finish.
He has been rewarded for his efforts with a new one year deal with the option of a second year depending on his performance, and is delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue his work.
"I have a good feeling," he told reporters outside the Sevillian hotel in which he met club owner Manuel Luiz de Lopera on Monday to sign the new contract.
"We had to make some points clear in order to set realistic objectives, but going ahead we have a project of two or three years and a budget with which to achieve our goals."
The budget in question for this summer is reported to be in the region of €10million and Chaparro indicated that it was the talk of objectives and finances that took centre stage, rather than his own contract demands.
"There is a lot of work to be done and during our lengthy discussions we rarely mentioned my own terms, only proposals to improve the team," he concluded.
