Jiménez Pleased With Victory

Goals in either half from defender Federico Fazio put Sevilla in charge in an open game with plenty of chances at both ends, with Jose Moraton's late own goal adding further gloss to the result for Jiménez's men.

Jiménez indicated that he was "content" with the result, but indicated that it will mean nothing in the race for fourth unless Sevilla are able to win their final two games of the season.

"We must be incredibly proud of these players... now there are two games left until the end and we must win both of them," he told reporters after the match.

Racing were perhaps unfortunate to lose by such a scoreline and Jiménez recognised that their opponents "are an excellent side" and added that to beat them away from home gives even more satisfaction to the result.

Jiménez now hopes that Espanyol can "throw us a bone," when the square off against Atletico Madrid on Thursday and concluded the interview by indicating that Sunday's derby with Real Betis will be a difficult game for his side as their local rivals "are not going to give anything away."
