The Mexican coach believes that if his side can win a place in the Champions League mathematically then and only then can they afford to relax.
Having clung on to fourth place despite some inconsistent results, Aguirre knows that three points against Depor in the Vicente Calderón would mean that they could not be caught on the final day of the season.
"We have a good chance to finish the season well. There are two games left, but the next 90 minutes can reward the fans, help to reach our goal and ensure that we do not leave things until the final day," he explained.
"We are going to have work very hard and to keep going for the entire 90 minutes and I hope we can produce good football and score goals. We have to be very focussed and serious about this.
"All season we have had the same objective and now it is within our grasp. It is a good feeling and we want to complete that and then we can relax a bit."
Aguirre warned that Depor should not be under-estimated having turned their season around and they will arrive in Madrid wanting three points to bolster their push for a UEFA Cup place.
"It is not going to be easy. Deportivo have been one of the best teams in the second half of the season and that says everything about them," he continued.
"They are very strong and looking to qualify for Europe. Anyone on our side that thinks that this will be an easy game, some sort of party, is wrong.
